Happy holidays, Potterheads! For those who whip out our Harry Potter collection every winter, whether it be the books or the movies, let’s step into Pinkoi’s Room of Requirement and find everything your heart desires!
“Oculus reparo.”
Let’s start with one of the first spells we learned from the brilliant Hermione Granger when she wittingly repaired Harry’s glasses!
“It’s the Nimbus 2000!”
Remember when Harry first made the seeker of Gryffindor Quidditch team? Professor McGonagall sure remembered, and gifted him the fastest broomstick yet!
“Do you really have the the…the scar?”
How to spot Harry Potter? Check the obvious lightning scar on his forehead, left by He Who Must Not Be Named. You know young Ron Weasley wanted to see the legendary scar when he asked carefully the first time they met on the Hogwarts Express!
Godric Gryffindor
Represented by a lion, true Gryffindors show courage, chivalry, and determination. Even though Harry embodies many traits that are appreciated by Slytherin, he is ultimately placed in Gryffindor because he asks not to be in Slytherin. What decision would you have made?
“Together, they make one master of death.”
From a children’s tale, Hermione tells the story of the three brothers and the three objects they each possess that could cheat death—the resurrection stone, the cloak of invisibility and the elder wand.
“I must not tell lies.”
During Harry’s detention with Professor Umbridge, he used the Black Quill to write “I must not tell lies.” until he acquired a scar on the back of his hand. Ouch!
Amortentia
Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. Don’t believe us? Just think about Ron’s strange obsession with Romilda Vane when he mistakenly eats the chocolates she has given Harry!
The Sorting Hat
Gryffindor is the house of the brave; Ravenclaw is the house of the wise; Hufflepuff is the house of loyal and fair; Slytherin is the house of the ambitious. If you are put under the Sorting Hat, which house do you think you belong to?
Parselmouth
We have to admit—being able to speak Parseltongue is pretty cool, even though everyone knows that’s a mark of a Dark Wizard…
Borgin and Burkes
Speaking of dark wizards, where do you think they like to go shopping? My best guess would be Borgin and Burkes where they specialize in objects that have strong magical properties.
Hagrid’s gift
Hedwig has been Harry’s best companion since day one. We bet you shed some tears for dear Hedwig when she tried to protect Harry from a Death Eater.
Collectible confection
While there are many sweets we’d like to try from the trolley, such as Pumpkin Pasty, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and Sherbet Lemon, just to name a few. Chocolate frogs are probably the most intriguing; after all, who doesn’t like chasing after their snack like Neville Longbottom? (Just kidding.)
Muggle or Witch?
How does a witch blend in with the Muggle world? First, you need to choose the right outfit.
Professor Lupin’s secret
As the full moon approaches, Professor Lupin disappears yet again. It is not until later at the Shrieking Shack did they learn what Lupin really is…
“Three turns should do it.”
We will forever remember Professor Dumbledore’s cryptic words when he hinted Hermione to use her Time-Turner to rescue Buckbeak and Sirius Black. Also, did you notice this necklace has the Deathly Hallows symbol?
Dobby’s freedom
Oh, how we love Lucius Malfoy’s face when Dobby found a sock in the book his master threw at him!
Christmas at Hogsmeade
If there’s anywhere we’d like to spend Christmas, it’s at Hogsmeade! Treat yourself to a butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks, grab some sweets from Honeydukes and buy some gifts from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes!
Yule Ball
Snowglobe ring | Snowflakes earrings
Alright, alright. It’s time for some teenage drama. The Yule Ball represents a transformation in the three young wizards’ life. It is the first time Ron notices how attracted he is to Hermione, and Harry a little heartbroken from Cho’s rejection. Nevertheless, the Yule Ball is a beautiful event decorated with a magical snowy ceiling!
Severus Snape’s Patronus
Snape’s Pensieve (memories) still has us tearing up! In love with Lily Potter his entire life, we learn Snape’s Patronus is in the shape of a doe, which is also Lily’s Patronus.
Harry Potter’s Patronus
Harry’s Patronus is a stag, the same shape as his father James’s. You might recall the first time he saw it at the Great Lake when Sirius and he were attacked by Dementors.
Hagrid’s mission
Lastly, we must end this list of selections with our dear friend Hagrid. Hagrid brought Harry to safety when he was only a baby, and of course, he carried Harry in his flying bike back to safety to the Tonks house.
Now that we’ve refreshed your memories, it’s time to put together a Harry Potter movie marathon with your besties! Don’t forget to pick out presents for your Harry Potter obsessed friends, too!
